4 places to bring your mother-in-law to

Going out with our mothers-in-law should be no different than going out with our own mum. After all, they’re mothers too. And just like how we’d like to give our own mums the best, we have 4 great places here to recommend bringing your MILs!

Niku Katsumata

Originating from Ebisu, Tokyo, Niku Katsumata is the representation of what top-grade beef from Japan should be. Diners enjoy unadulterated flavours of lean Japanese beef cooked over crystal. Located along Duxton Road, the restaurant is headed by chef Tsuyoshi Katsumata. The star dish here is Tataki Wagyu, an A4-grade wagyu that is lightly seared before placed atop a bowl of rice. A light savoury broth is then poured over the beef, drawing out even more flavours from the already flavourful beef.

Its menu constantly changes, but Patara stays true to the heart and soul of classic Thai dishes. Among the menu’s highlight are the Hoy Shell – seared sea scallops in roasted chilli dressing – and the Iberico pork collar in red curry.
